Progress report Kevin

I did it! I reached my goal of running non-stop 3 miles in under 30 minutes before the new year. I did it 5 days early so I will take the next 5 days to come up with my next goal. I will still be running every day and thinking hard as to what I can accomplish by the end of January. Any suggestions?

Progress report Kevin

Love my new playlist except there were a few swear words. If you are planning on making a sweet playlist like mine please exclude eminem lose yourself and two of the greenday songs have swear words so omit those. I ran most of 3.6 miles yesterday but could only do 1.7 miles today because my knees were hurting. I am going to skip working out on Christmas day. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Cromars Progress

My parents sold my diamond back, so i will have to use my sons Thomas the Train Bike. I will try and take off the training wheels, the bike should work for the triathalon, I just need to add a water bottle clip.

I went up and down our stairs 4 times yesterday, once with me carrying Myles. I am gonna try 5 times tomorrow.

Has been too cold and snowy here to even consider swimming or running, so i have busted out my old atari and have been playing Track and Feild. At least I can think about it..............

Cromar Rexburg Triathalon

I have no idea where Rexburg is and I have no Idea what a Triatholon is. I think I need to buy a bike, I am thinking if my parents come to visit they can bring my diamond back. I had that thing since 6th grade, only thing is its missing a seat and its only one speed.

I will have to find out how much running and other stuff is envolved before I start training.

Cromar Rexburg Triathalon

I entered a triatholon in Rexburg in Aug. 09. My brother in law kevin suggested that I enter. So far we have 4 entrants, most of them family. The 2 losers will have to walk down mainstreet in a pink speedo. The winner gets fabulous prizes and a boat load of cash. I am composing this post in conjunction with Kevin to track my progress so that I can get in shape. Here goes.

Progress report Kevin

Ran 2 miles at 6mph today. I hit a wall at about 2 miles or at 25 minutes. My goal is 3 miles in 30 minutes by the new year. I am shoveling alot of snow on top of working out. We have a foot of snow in Rexburg.

Progress report Kevin

Was a little tired today but I think it was from a lack of sleep and not eating right. Ran a mile in a half at 6mph then ran another mile at 5mph. My legs are already getting a little bigger and my back and shoulders are sore when I run.

Progress report Kevin

Watched the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii today. Those guys are crazy. All day long. At least it motivated me to workout extra hard. Ran 2 miles in 20 minutes and then walked uphill for another 15 minutes. It is snowing hard in Rexburg so not much chance of me getting to run outside.

Creative bets

I will let everyone know who will be participating so if there are any other creative bets similar to the Pink Speedo bet I will get them up. I will also invite you to blog on the Pink Speedo blog once you have committed to the RUSH Triathlon.

Everyone is welcome

A few have asked if they can get in on the action. Everyone is welcome to come to Rexburg and participate. We are all first timers in a TRI so NO one will feel dumb. We would like lots of family and friends to come to Rexburg and enjoy the perfect Rexburg summer for a few days! You are welcome to participate of watch those participating. Here is the website http://www.rushtriathlon.com/ You can register after the first or the year and it will run around the 3rd week in August. That gives you plenty of time to put off training :)

Progress report Kevin

Ran 2 miles again today. Felt OK but I already fell off the eating healthy wagon last night. While I was watching the Office I ate a half a bag of bugles and drank a Dr. Pepper. There can't be anything worse for you than Bugles. I guess if I expect my self to eat healthy I need to get stuff like that out of the house. I am WAY hungrier now that I am working out.

Progress report Kevin

Thanks for the suggestion Andi, I will try it out. I just can't get myself to drink during the workout. I ran 2 miles today first mile 5mph 12 minutes 2nd mile 6mph 10 minutes. Felt great and wasn't too tired. My heart rate was 110 bpm after the run. Still staying in the "base zone" and not getting too tired or sore. I am trying to cut out Dr. Pepper from the diet but Carson and I went to McDonald's yesterday and I couldn't eat a Big Mac without a Dr. Pepper. Of all the things I am going to sacrifice I think that will be the hardest. I won't go cold turkey I just will replace a few Dr. Peppers per day until I find a good replacement drink that I like almost as well. I tried a SOBE drink yesterday and it was yucky.

It's On!!!

Progress report Kevin

Just ran 2.2 miles without walking at 5 mph. What did people do before Ipods? Legs are stiff but loosened up once I started running. I plan to build a "base" by running at least 2 miles/day for the next two weeks and to get my cardio up to the point where my heart isn't too stressed. I have been reading alot about Triathlons and it seems most experts agree running is where you build a great cardio base but not to overdo it because running is where most get injured. SO far no real aches and pains and my running shoes are holding up. I am not drinking until after the run and I want to add some liquid during the run. I am looking for something that is not sweet but I hate drinking water. Any suggestions?

Progress report Kevin

My first few days of training went pretty good. Ran a few miles in about 20 minutes. Muscles are a little sore but I was suprised I could run without walking. I plan to run every day during the winter and swim every now and then. I will not train on the bike until it gets warmer and I find a bike.
